IoT BRIDGE FOR LWM2M
The Tartabit IoT Bridge provides seamless integration between devices that support the LWM2M 1.0 or 1.1 standards and numerous enterprise services. With a focus on data-in-transit and using a robust library of transcoders, converting LWM2M data into business friendly models has never been easier.
IoT Bridge for LWM2M
What is LWM2M?
OMA SpecWorks’ LightweightM2M (LWM2M) is a device management protocol designed for sensor networks and the demands of a machine-to-machine (M2M) environment. LwM2M is a response demand in the market for a common standard for managing lightweight and low power devices on a variety of networks necessary to realize the potential of IoT. The LwM2M protocol, designed for remote management of M2M devices and related service enablement, features a modern architectural design based on REST, defines an extensible resource and data model and builds on an efficient secure data transfer standard called the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP). LwM2M has been specified by a group of industry experts at the OMA SpecWorks Device Management Working Group and is based on protocol and security standards from the IETF.
Why LWM2M?
LWM2M has been proven to be significantly more efficient than transports such as MQTT for constrained device communications. If you are concerned about the size of your cellular data plan or the life of your device's battery, then LWM2M is the solution for you.
For example, a simple asset tracking solution may use 5MB of data using a hyper-cloud IoT SDK, whereas the same data can be transferred using 500KB of data using LWM2M. This savings is material for many LPWAN use cases.
Open Source Clients
We have performed extensive testing with popular open source LWM2M client implementations from AVSystem (Anjay), the Eclipse Foundation (Leshan), and Wakaama. This integration enables you to build your own solutions quickly without needing to develop a stack yourself.
Cellular Module Support
The Tartabit IoT Bridge supports the LWM2M offerings from the leading cellular module manufacturers. This enables customers who use these modules to quickly onboard their devices to Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or any other enterprise application they desire.
Solution templates galore
Solution templates are available for popular use cases and devices making it easy to integrate and get started.
